Immigration Reform Pathways are Clear
The Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration supports the US Citizenship Act of 2021 and similar legislation.
I support the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration’s position on reform because, as stated, it’s time for a “modern, humane and just immigration system that meets the needs of students and families and advances our nation’s interests.” The recommendation included in the Steering Committee Letter (PDF) provides a clear path forward, improving on issues related to state autonomy, expedited citizenship, and a better way of recruiting and retaining international students, especially in the STEM fields. I encourage everyone to support the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 and similar legislation that would give immigrants and international students a chance to make meaningful contributions to our country.
