Welcome Message to Students

August 18, 2024

Dear Students,

As we kick off the fall semester, it is my pleasure to welcome you and wish you a successful year. Whether you’re returning to campus or joining us for the first time, I want you to know that you belong here, and we’re thrilled to have you as part of the Razorback family.

As we begin this academic year, I encourage you to reflect on what it means to be a part of our community. Belonging is more than just being here; it’s about feeling connected, supported and valued. The University of Arkansas is a place where everyone matters, and we uplift one another to reach our highest potential.

The contributions you make — whether in the classroom, through campus organizations, or within the local community — help shape the dynamic environment that makes our university special. Your presence here is valued, and your success is a shared goal for all of us.

I encourage you to take full advantage of the resources we offer to support you throughout your time at the U of A. Our Student Success Center, located in the CORD, is here to provide academic assistance, mentoring and other free support services that can help you thrive. The CORD has served thousands of Razorback students since opening in January 2022, and our data shows that students benefit greatly from its services. I hope you will make the most of this valuable resource.

I also urge you to engage with your peers, connect with faculty and staff, and immerse yourself in our vibrant campus community. Attending class regularly, joining registered student organizations, visiting your professors during their office hours and going to campus events are all great ways to build meaningful relationships and get the most out of your time at the university.

If you see me around campus, don’t hesitate to stop and say hi. Serving as your chancellor is an honor, and I look forward to meeting you and learning about your goals and experiences at the university.

Here’s to an outstanding year!

Sincerely,

Charles F. Robinson, PhD
Chancellor
